Front End Development vs Back End Development 2022

Usually in the early stages of starting web design or development, we get confused about the difference between design and development. What is the role of a web designer? What is involved in working with web design? Are web design and web development the same? Are they different names with the same meaning or perform the same role?

Front End Development vs Back End Development 2022

The easy answer would be no. Each role is completely different from each other. But let's take a look at the various roles and procedures of both a web designer and a web developer and the differences between them.

Web Design :

Let's talk a little about web design again, in simple terms it's deciding what a website will look like or what its general appearance will be. Webpages are designed using various UI (User Interface) tools, such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe XD, Figma etc. are widely used tools.

In web design, website content is usually static. Static means that the content of the website does not change according to the user.

Example: Take Facebook for example, when you login to your profile on Facebook, you can see your photos, your details, your friends' posts, etc., so you can see different pictures, texts, different videos, etc. Because of dynamic web content, these contents Your profile looks one way and your friend's profile looks different when they log in. That means the content depends on different people, different places, but the design structure of the page remains the same. Where there is a picture in your profile, there is also a picture in your friend's profile, in the same way as the posts in your profile, the posts in your friend's profile are shown in the same way.

This is the design structure that shows the same content in the same place. The design structure is usually prepared in advance using different UI tools. The design structure is usually static and the initial part of the development is also static, after that it is worked in a dynamic way, Facebook changes their design structure after many days. This is the simple difference between design and development. The design part of the web page is also called UI design.

Web development :

The web development part is divided into two parts:
1. Front End Development

2. Back end development

Front End Development:

In very simple terms, front end development is the part visible to the user, which is used by the user. And back end development is the internal work that is not known to the common website user.

To give a real example, Let's say you are a foodie, like to eat in restaurants. A restaurant has two parts, an outer part, where the restaurant boy serves the food to you and an inner part (kitchen) where the food is prepared according to the customer's needs. Here the front end works as the first part of the restaurant where order management, menu viewing, food consumption, bill payment etc.

On the other hand (processing kitchen food) is the back end work.

HTML,CSS,JS are used for front end development. The content of the web page is placed on the website with HTML, then with CSS it is converted into a static web page in accordance with the designed layout, after which the user interaction tasks are done with the help of JS, such as clicking on various buttons, the web site. Creating various animation effects, etc. is done. For example restaurant decoration, or decoration part, food menu, waiter, cash counter etc. front end part.

Order Processing:

First, the customer orders food by looking at the food menu. This static content helps the customer to see what the customer is looking at. Same thing for displaying web content on website HTML & CSS are used.

Then the customer wants to place the order with the kitchen staff. In this case, the work of a waiter involves conversation with the customer, taking the food order by understanding the customer's needs and sending the order to the kitchen. Just like ordering a meal, the visitor comes to the website and wants something.

So the summary of front end development is:

1. Visitors visit the website and see what you offer or display (HTML).

2. Customer wants more information to make decision (Interactivity/JavaScript)

3. The visitor/customer takes action on what they want (User Request/JavaScript)

Back End Development:

Have you seen part of the restaurant's kitchen? The kitchen area is completely different from what you see at the restaurant serving food, at the cash counter. This is the difference between front end and back end. Like a restaurant, the server side or back end is completely different. The back end server has much more power than the front end browser or any device used.

What a server is another discussion, but in one line, the server is said to be the one who serves (providing service). The main purpose of the work done on the back end server is efficiency and productivity.

Summary of Back End Development:

  1. Restaurant kitchen work and back end work are of the same type.
  2. All its components should always be in the right place.
  3. All components must know their respective jobs and perform consistently, just like in a restaurant kitchen.
  4. A server must collect data from a website or an application and send the correct response every time, just like a waiter serves food by taking the right order, preparing the food correctly, and preparing the food correctly.

One of the things to learn for front end development is: HTML, CSS and JS,

On the other hand, if you want to work in the back end (Server Side Language(Php, Python, Node.js, Java, C# and more), you should learn any server side language well and any database should be well learned (Database, MySql, MongoDB or others).
